Linda Joan Libertucci
Abstract Artist

Linda is an abstract painter that currently resides in Richmond, VA. In February of 2021, she survived an almost fatal brain aneurysm. She has been in recovery since March of 2021. For her, painting is a way to escape her reality. When she paints her abstractions, she gets lost in the process and forgets about all the hard work she has had to endure during this recovery.
Linda's methods are experimental. She allows the first few brush strokes to tell the story that the painting wants to tell. Her abstractions are full of bold colors, thick textures and complex details. Each piece is named from her own imagination. She believes that abstract art should be named abstractly.

Her art work is eccentric, much like her. Linda believes her paintings are either a window or a mirror, depending on the eye of the beholder. She hopes that her paintings make you look inward and find that deep connection to positivity in your life. She wants her abstractions to be inspiring so you can step into new worlds and experience life with true freedom.

"I create because I need to. I am compelled to share with the world my artwork. If I am not creating I feel dull and lifeless. Painting an abstraction gives me reflection. It is a love so deep it is astounding. It's inside my core and an artist is part of who I am. It is my freedom. Art is my soul's story and It is my essence..."

With little planning or foresight I create with basic elements. Canvas, Brush, Palette Knife, and Paint. At first the creation is indeterminate, unassuming, and whatever goes.

The manipulation of paints and materials start to form the beginning of a story. Then reflection. Then a plan. A growth of intentions blossom. The paint and canvas tell me where to go. A story develops and a painting is born. The story is alive and wants to be told. The fine details are implemented until the work is done. The work of discovering the life that it will become...

I want my work to be inspiring. I want it to speak to your inner being to allow for personal growth and self-awareness. Let it help you explore your purpose in this world and the footprint you make while living this life. I hope it influences you to grow out of your shell and step into new worlds. Let it expand your mind, heart and soul. Find a love within yourself and learn who you are so that you can truly be free...

I have been an Abstract Artist since 2001. About 8 years ago I decided it was time to share my imagination and gifts.

In 1997 I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance & Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Art has always been a part of me and I believe I was born to discover myself through many creative endeavors. I've always allowed music, dance, painting, photography, and the culinary arts to be a driving force in my life. When I create my Abstractions I learn new things about life and the world that surrounds me. It allows me to feel a connection to things greater than myself.

My art is inspired by the brilliance of nature, architectural design, metaphysics, music, and the mysteries of the universe. My inspiration can also blossom from simpler things like a rainy day, a sudden feeling, a particular song, or even a certain scent. My passion for life shines through my creations. The discovery and possibilities are endless.
